OUTDOOR TENNIS
The historic grass courts and shingle style architecture create an extraordinary setting. Beautifully maintained, the grounds evoke the Gilded Age elegance of the Club built in the late 19th century by the architectural team of McKim, Mead, and White. In 1881, the Newport Casino hosted the first-ever U.S. National Lawn Tennis Championships, today known as the US Open. Most of the greatest champions in tennis history have played on these courts – and you can too!
In 2020, the grass courts underwent a complete renovation, not just for the ATP tournament held every July, but for Hall of Fame Tennis Club members and guests to experience as well!
Hall of Fame Tennis Club members enjoy benefits including unlimited court time on the grass, social functions, member tournaments, instruction from our superb teaching professionals, and discounts in the Pro Shop.
Our courts are also available to the public. Non-members may book courts by calling 401-849-4777.
MEMBERSHIP
We look forward to welcoming you for tennis on grass courts at the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The outdoor season dates are from Wednesday, May 15 through Sunday, October 13. To register for membership, please submit the online form below.
Membership Categories
- Family: All members in the same household; children under 21 in school, living at home.
- Couple: Two adults married or living together as a couple in the same house on a full-time basis.
- Individual: Adult full-time members, over 18 (membership for one person - cannot be shared).
- Junior: 18 years and younger; parental signature for membership responsibility required.
*Minimum membership is for one month.

Members may reserve courts up to 10 days in advance online, or 8 days in advance by phone. Some calendar dates will be unavailable for play, including during the Infosys Hall of Fame Open (July 13-21).
Grass Courts
Enjoy members ONLY access to the grass courts daily from 10:00-11:30am. Our "no show" policy: if a court is booked by a member and not used, there will be a $60 fee assessed and advanced booking privileges could be forfeited. The Club reserves the right to release courts.
Guest Privileges
Members may bring guests at a rate of $60 per day. Each guest may visit up to three (3) times per season. Guests must sign in at the Pro Shop desk prior to play. The $60 guest fee will be applied directly to the Member's account unless otherwise specified.

Professional Tennis Staff
Our USPTA certified teaching professionals run a robust calendar of clinics. In addition, private and semi-private instruction is available. Our team is dedicated to ensuring an excellent tennis experience every time you visit.

Whether your child is a beginner or an advanced player looking to prepare for the high school season or beyond, the Hall of Fame Tennis Club organizes junior programs to help them improve and develop a love for tennis.
CLUB AMENITIES
Pro Shop
We carry performance and logo apparel and shoes from leading tennis brands such as FILA, as well as the latest racquet models from leading brands. In addition, we offer racquet stringing. Demo racquets are available for use on-site to members or visiting guests at a fee of $10 per day (which counts against the purchase price of a racquet that is being play-tested).
Stringing Service
Racquet stringing is typically a 48 hour turn-around and we have a wide variety of poly, multifiliment, monofilament, and natural gut strings to choose from.
Fitness Facility
Equipped with state-of-the-art cardio and weight machines, free weights, and stretching area. Available for a recurring monthly fee for Tennis Club members only.

Locker Rooms
Complete with shower facilities and seasonal locker rentals available for members. Towels are readily available in the Pro Shop.

Parking lots are available off both, Memorial Boulevard and Freebody Street.
Hall of Fame Tennis Club Refund Policy
In addition to the General Waiver included with the membership materials, all members must digitally sign the Waiver of Play during registration.
Membership fees paid to the Hall of Fame Tennis Club are non-refundable under any circumstance after the first 10 business days of the signed agreement. Written communication of BUYERS RIGHT TO CANCEL within the 10-day grace period can be made by mail or in person to the Director of Tennis at the Hall of Fame Tennis Club and a full refund of membership fees will be provided. Any and all miscellaneous fees incurred during the 10-day period will be subtracted from the refund if necessary.
ADULT PROGRAMMING

Our instruction program is managed by our talented staff of USPTA certified teaching professionals. Private and group instruction programs are tailored for all ages and levels.
JUNIOR PROGRAMMING
Whether your child is new to tennis or an advanced player preparing for the high school season or beyond, the Hall of Fame Tennis Club organizes junior programs to help them improve and develop a love for tennis.
Hall of Fame Tennis Camp (ages 8-16)
The Hall of Fame Tennis Camp meets daily (Monday-Friday) from 8:30-11:30am. The instruction and classes are held at the Club, on both the indoor and outdoor hard courts, and on the (six) Salve Regina University campus hard courts. Juniors enroll on a weekly basis and are placed in appropriate groups based on age, ability, and experience level. Tennis whites (top and bottom) are required for the Camp. Tennis shoes, hat, and warm-ups can be any color. Classes are limited and the on-court ratio remains 4:1, assuring more customized instruction and that a higher volume of balls are hit.
Hall of Fame Beginner Program (ages 4-7)
The Hall of Fame Beginner Tennis program is for our youngest juniors to get on-court and start to develop the love and skills for tennis. The class meets weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-5:00pm. Students sign up week-to-week and must commit to both days. Tennis whites are not required as the students will be based at the Indoor Tennis Club assuring that our youngest students avoid the sun and humidity.

The junior membership option of $200 for the 2025 season can be added during the online registration. There is a 20% discount offered to all year-round Club members who register for the Summer Camp weeks BEFORE May 1, 2024. In addition to the discounted pricing of the weekly Camp & Beginner programs, juniors who join the Tennis Club receive the following benefits:
- Unlimited court usage throughout the summer (grass courts, hard courts, clay court).
- No cost Junior Match Day fees (non-member is $50). Match Play days will be hosted against visiting Clubs throughout the summer. There will also be intra-Club Match Days as well.
- 15% discount on all Pro Shop purchases.

Instruction Terms & Policies
- Lessons must be scheduled with the individual pro or through the front desk.
- All lessons must check-in with the front desk prior to instruction.
- Lesson payment is to be made in advance of instruction via cash, check, or credit card.
- Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to avoid full charge for the lesson.
- No one may teach tennis for a fee or fee equivalent at the Hall of Fame without the express consent of the Director of Tennis.
- There is a $100 additional charge for non-members for private instruction ONLY on the grass courts. Pricing for the outdoor hard courts, the indoor hard courts, and the outdoor clay court is as listed.
GUEST RESERVATIONS
The grass courts at the Hall of Fame Tennis Club are open to the public! Please call the Pro Shop at 401-849-4777 to reserve court time.
For non-members, cancellations must occur 48 hours in advance to avoid the full charge for the court time. This is being done to assure an efficiency in court usage and that the available courts are utilized in full.
The Hall of Fame Tennis Club reserves the right to move any reservation or to move groups to another time slot without notice.

- All outdoor play (hard courts, grass courts, clay courts) tennis whites are required (top and bottom). Shoes can be any color; however we don’t allow the ‘professional’ or ‘nubbed’ tennis shoes on the grass.
- Please check-in about 15 minutes prior to your scheduled reservation.
- Guests to the club may begin play on the grass no earlier than 11:30am each morning, with the grass courts closing for the day at 7:00pm.
- Full men’s and women’s locker rooms are available for visiting guests. Towels are available in the Pro Shop.
- The International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum is open daily from 10:00-5:00pm. Guests reserving courts will receive a 50% discount to the Museum and can pick up a discounted Museum pass at the Pro Shop.
- Racquet rentals are available in the Pro Shop at $10/ea.
