The clocktower at the International Tennis Hall of Fame

Set in The Newport Casino, a National Historic Landmark that was first opened on July 26, 1880 as a social club for Newport’s turn of the century summer elite, The International Tennis Hall of Fame preserves and promotes the history of tennis and celebrates its champions, thereby serving as a vital partner in the growth of tennis globally.

In addition to our beautiful and historic property which is open to the public year-round, our Enshrinement Gallery, located in the museum, celebrates 267 distinguished Tennis Hall of Fame inductees representing 28 different countries. Additionally, the museum is home to an array of artifacts including objects, art, fashion, photos, images, videos, and publications showcasing an impressive collection from tennis’ greatest moments and most inspiring champions. Highlights include a hologram of Roger Federer speaking about why he loves tennis, a 5-foot tennis trivia touch table, and the Arthur Ashe '68 VR experience which travels back to the year 1968 and immerses visitors in the tennis champion's moment as he becomes the first Black man to win the US Open, and uses his newfound celebrity to lift his voice against injustice.

Every summer we host the Infosys Hall of Fame Open and Enshrinement Weekend. Tennis enthusiasts can enjoy watching some of the worlds top tennis players on our grass courts (the only professional tournament played on grass in the United States, national amateur tournaments) and end the week at our Enshrinement Weekend where select individuals are recognized with the ultimate honor in tennis — induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

The seven-acre property is also an active year-round tennis facility. The Hall of Fame Tennis Club features 13 grass tennis courts, 6 hard courts (3 indoor, 3 indoor/outdoor), 1 clay court, and a rare Court Tennis, or “Real Tennis”, facility. All of the courts are regularly utilized by club members and are open to the public. For information on reserving space(s), info on our clinics, or to sign up for private instruction please call us at 401-849-4777 or email tennisclub@tennisfame.com for more information.
