ITHF Global Organization of Distinction Award

In celebration of the global nature of our sport and the remarkable individuals and organizations around the world who are committed to growing the sport, the ITHF Global Organization of Distinction is presented annually by the International Tennis Hall of Fame to a deserving tennis organization.

The award honors a tennis organization, association, federation, or facility that has demonstrated a successful track record of distinguished service and contributions toward the growth of tennis. A Selection Committee comprised of representatives from ITHF, ITF, and the global tennis community determines the recipient from nominations made by the tennis community at large.

Colombian Tennis Federation Honored with Global Organization of Distinction Award

The Federación Colombiana de Tenis (Colombian Tennis Federation) has been honored by the International Tennis Hall of Fame with the 2022 Global Organization of Distinction Award, in recognition of the Federation’s commitment to growing the sport within the nation of Colombia.

The award was presented Monday on behalf of the ITHF by Hall of Famer Mark Woodforde at the International Tennis Federation’s AGM. Annually, the Global Organization of Distinction Award recognizes to a tennis organization, association, federation, or facility that has demonstrated a successful track record of distinguished service and contributions towards the growth of tennis.

In recognition of over a century of development, service and excellence in Spanish tennis, the Real Club de Tennis Barcelona 1899 (RCTB) has been honored with the International Tennis Hall of Fame’s Global Organization of Distinction Award. The award was presented by the ITHF at the 2022 Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, the ATP Tour tournament hosted annually by the Club.

ITHF Honors Chinese Tennis Association with 2019 Global Organization of Distinction Award 

In recognition of their immense success in growing tennis in China and positive impact on the global growth of the sport, the Chinese Tennis Association was honored with the Global Organization of Distinction Award in a special ceremony at the 2019 ITF Annual General Meeting in Lisbon, Portugal.

“The Chinese Tennis Association may have a short track record, but it is a very distinguished one. The association has invested strategically in events, coaching education, grass-roots participation and player development,” stated Todd Martin, International Tennis Hall of Fame CEO.

Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club honored with ITHF 2018 Global Organization of Distinction Award

Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club in Melbourne, Australia was presented with the International Tennis Hall of Fame Global Organization of Distinction Award at the ITF Annual General Meeting in Orlando in recognition of its service and contribution towards the growth of tennis. Kooyong holds a revered place in tennis history, both domestically and internationally, having produced a long list of Australian players and being the home of the Australian Open Championships from 1972 until 1988.

Tennis Cambodia honored with inaugural ITHF 2017 Global Organization of Distinction Award

Tennis Cambodia was awarded the inaugural International Tennis Hall of Fame Global Organization of Distinction Award in recognition of its outstanding achievements in rebuilding tennis in the nation following the sport’s eradication during the genocide by the Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s. The award was presented by the International Tennis Hall of Fame in partnership with the International Tennis Federation at the 2017 ITF Annual General Meeting in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
